Greetings Selectism readers and NPR listeners
I came back from a fun long weekend in Vancouver to see that there was an unusually large amount of traffic to this blog; it looks like a lot of it is coming from readers of Selectism, or listeners of Tess Vigeland's Marketplace show on NPR.

Meanwhile, I'll leave you with this neat photo. In Vancouver this weekend a friend took me by the old set of The Watchmen that was used for the New York street scenes. Most of it is still standing, and it is amazing how authentic painted plywood can look. I especially liked this storefront -- a fake version of an authentic New York City tex-mex cantina:
